When Halloween bingo works

Trick-or-treating
A card in a pocket turns the walk between houses into part of the game — a witch costume, a carved pumpkin, a house with a fog machine. It is something to do on the stretches with no doorbells.

Halloween bingo questions
Is this too scary for young children?
The starter list is pumpkins, costumes and sweets rather than anything frightening. It reads as autumn more than horror, and any square that does not suit your group can be replaced.
Can I hand these out to trick-or-treaters?
People do. A card is cheaper per house than sweets and tends to be remembered longer, though it is best as an addition rather than a replacement.
Are these Halloween bingo cards really free?

Will every card be different?

How do I print them?
The download is a US Letter PDF you can print at home or at a copy shop. Choose one, two or four cards per page — four is the paper-saving option, one gives the biggest squares to mark. Ordinary paper is fine; cardstock holds up better if the cards get handled all evening.
Can I change the words?
All 30 of them. The Halloween list is a starting point — delete anything that does not fit, paste in your own, and the cards are built from whatever you end up with.
